Some reasonably available players to assist you in the Runs and/or RBI categories.
Runs
Dexter Fowler, Colorado Rockies - Dexter was on yesterday’s Speed Demon report because of his five SB game. He also scored 7 Runs over the past week while hitting .400 (8 for 20). He is owned in 30.7% of ESPN and 64% of Yahoo leagues, which is up from 16.5% & 48% respectively just yesterday.
Rod Barajas, Toronto Blue Jays - Barajas is firing on all cylinders. He went 10 for 25 (.400) with 7 Runs, 2 HR, and 7 RBI last week. He is owned in just 2.3% of ESPN and 8% of Yahoo leagues, which blows my mind because he’s a Catcher. Not many Catchers rake like that. He also could help out in the RBI category.
Russell Branyan, Seattle Mariners - Branyan had a solid past week going 10 for 20 (.500) with 7 Runs, 2 HRs, and 7 RBI. He qualifies at both 1B & 3B, which helps his value. He is owned in 11.8% of ESPN and 35% of Yahoo leagues. He also could help out in the RBI category.
Gary Matthews, Jr., Los Angeles Angels - Gary is taking advantage of Vladimir Guerrero’s injury. Last week he went 7 for 21 (.333) with 7 Runs and 2 RBI. You’d like him to contribute in other categories a little more, but he should be a decent source for Runs while Vlad is out. He is owned in 1.5% of ESPN and 2% of Yahoo leagues.
RBI
Kendry Morales, Los Angeles Angels - Kendry went 8 for 22 (.364) last week with 5 Runs, 2 HRs, and 8 RBI. He qualifies at both 1B & OF, which gives you some flexibility. He is owned in 4.2% of ESPN and 24% of Yahoo leagues.
Plácido Polanco, Detroit Tigers - Plácido went 8 for 30 (.267) with 3 Runs and 7 RBI last week. I’d prefer more Runs and a higher average out of a Second Baseman, but the RBIs were nice. He is owned 90.3% of ESPN leagues, but just 51% of Yahoo ones.
Yuniesky Betancourt, Seattle Mariners - Here’s a Shortstop with 7 RBIs over the past week. He didn’t do much else hitting .231 (6 for 26) with 1 Run, 1 HR, and 1 SB. On the year he’s hitting .292 though so don’t worry about that average. He is owned in 3.6% of ESPN and 9% of Yahoo leagues.
