Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz delivered a clutch two-out double in Boston’s 14-1 win over the Yankees Saturday, an important hit for the Sox and Ortiz, writes Bob Ryan. For the season, Ortiz is hitting .227 with 20 home runs and 75 RBIs.

Fantasy spin: Ortiz is in rare company in his ability to both disappoint and be mildly productive at the same time. Thirty-two players in Major League Baseball have at least 75 RBIs, and 25 of them are hitting .270 or better. Ortiz is hitting just .227, though a .286 average (14-for-49) over his last 13 games gives some hope for the rest of the season.
