In honor of the late Patrick Swayze, I am going to submit my list of Patrick Swayze’s top sport movies.

1. Roadhouse - OK, it’s not technically a sport movie, but not only did Patrick Swayze make bouncers look cool, he made ass-kickin’ a sport. Dalton was a bad dude.

2. Youngblood – Patrick Swayze was the tough guy hockey player Derek Sutton. He gets taken out, but have no fear, Joel Youngblood (portrayed by Rob Lowe) is here. He’s pretty like a woman, but don’t cross him.

3. Red Dawn – Patrick Swayze plays Jed, an ex-football player, who mobilizes a group of teenagers to take on invading Soviet and Cuban troops. Not only was he a great football player, but an avid hunter as well. Don’t get too focused on the believability factor of this movie, and just enjoy it’s entertainment value. Wolverines!

4. The Outsiders – I actually like this film more than the top three, but Swayze plays the Darrel Curtis, the older brother of Ponyboy Curtis. He is once again an ex-football player in this one as well. He’s the head of the Greasers who are always add odds with the Socials. Great coming of age movie with a star-studded cast.

5. Point Break – This time Patrick Swayze plays Bodhi, a talented surfer who doubles as a bank robber. Not is Bodhi a gnarly surfer, but a skydiver as well.
